After some time, Professor Ochanomizu sees that Astro has superior powers and abilities, adopts him and treats Astro as his own son.Astro Boy is a science fiction series set in a futuristic world where robots co-exist with humans (the first such fictional example of an imagined futuristic world of humanoid robots).  Professor Ochanomizu (Dr. Elefun in the 1960s English dub), the new head of the Ministry of Science, noticed Astro Boy performing in the circus and was astounded by his advanced intelligence. He then managed to steal him back from Hamegg and treat Astro humanely; becoming his legal guardian in the process. Astro is subsequently given true emotions via programming:Astro is a robot boy, created by Pinocchio's great-grandfather over a hundred years ago. Professor Ochanomizu gets custody of Astro who is much more powerful than he seems to be. 


He is later sold to the circus, but Ochanomizu rescues him. Since then, Astro tries to live life like a normal human and goes to school with all humans. He tries to use his incredible powers for good but at the same time cannot refuse any help needed.
